I'll be joining the journalism faculty at Hofstra University as a full time Asst. Professor in September. After making the decision to find a teaching job, it took me more than a year to find a good job I felt comfortable with (and that was offered to me). It helped that I had done some adjunct teaching in the past and that the school was looking for someone with a lot of newsroom experience. Starting next month, I will be documenting my experiences (I know, just what the world needs, another blog) for anyone that might be interested in what it's like to make the transition. The site is http://geoffroth.blogspot.com. I have made an initial entry, but it won't be fully up and running until the beginning of September.
